We started Ottery Jewellery because we could not justify spending the huge amounts most other stores were charging. This includes bricks and mortar stores as well as other online jewellery stores. Many stores advertise that they have affordable quality jewellery, we set out to see if this was true we were disappointed in what we found. That being, they were affordable however, their products were not very good quality. On the other hand, they had quality jewellery but they weren’t very affordable they would be only a couple of dollars cheaper than anywhere else.
To overcome this problem, we set out to find some suppliers we have started off with a handful of Australian suppliers we negotiated with these suppliers to give us the best possible price. We didn’t do this to maximise our profits we did this to offer the most competitive prices that we could. While looking at ways to slash our prices we decided that the most cost-effective way to deliver our product is online this means we have low overheads which again means we can pass these savings on to you. We want you to know that when you purchase from us you can be confident in knowing we gave you our best possible price for a high-quality piece.
Not only do we offer pre-made pieces we also have a custom jewellery service. Whether you want a piece designed from scratch or if you want a basic repair or even a polish we can do this for you. Our manufacturing jeweller takes your idea and will use a CAD (Computer Aided Design) program to create an image of what you want, this ensures that your vision is going to be the same as what we make. This means your idea can become a reality, many jewellers either cannot or will not provide this service they throw it in the too hard basket we don’t! Our customers are at the forefront of our thinking there is no such things as too hard, just not trying hard enough. Jewellery is a very personal thing and we think if you choose so you should have a say in its design. Pre-made pieces are not for everyone.
We are going to continue with this blog post at a later date, we are doing this so that you can have an informed choice about jewellery. Even with our affordable prices jewellery can still be an expensive purchase and we want you to be happy with you purchase whether you purchase it from us or not. We will even talk about products that we do not sell to ensure that you can make an informed decision. We are doing this because with all the products and services that are out there it’s hard to keep up with all the jargon within the industry. This can be made especially difficult with the different purities and types of gold i.e. Yellow, Pink/Rose and White gold, 9K, 18K, 22K, and 24K etc. Even breaking these down is there a difference between Pink and Rose gold? We’ll cover that in a later post. We will be writing different posts about different articles so that you can be comfortable in making a decision for yourself to ensure you pick the right piece.
